To help in the apprehension of criminals, we have created a Security Camera Registration Program through the Police Department.  This program is completely voluntary for our residents and businesses.  However, we are encouraging locations to sign up. 

Fill out the form which can be completed and mailed to the Police Department.  Or, for more information, go to our City website.

The Roundhouse is an important part of our community and it benefits everyone.  Not only do children of all ages go to the aquarium but Manhattan Beach is known for this landmark. 
It needs our help and support!

As community members we are capable of helping through participating in this fun event that will take place on the hard pack of the sand along the water. The aquarium provides students with free seminars and educational field trips.

Salam Neighbor Screening

Salam Neighbor Screening
March 28, 6:30pm, MCHS Auditorium

Please join us for a screening of Salam Neighbor, a movie shot by the first filmmakers allowed by the United Nations to register and set-up a tent inside a Syrian refugee camp.

You can purchase tickets ahead of time online for $5 plus a fee (see link) or for $7 at the door. All proceeds will be donated to the refugees.

Mira Costa parent, Salam Darwaza, the film’s producer will be at the event, as well as the film’s director/producer, Chris Temple. Both will participate in a post screening Q&A. This film has screened at over 140 schools and universities around the world and recently had a New York screening with opening remarks by U.S. Ambassador to the UN, Samantha Power and a screening on Capitol Hill hosted by Manhattan Beach’s Congressman Ted Lieu. We are so fortunate to be able to host this screening, so we hope you can attend such a special and worthwhile event.

2nd Annual Youth Track Meet Fundraiser

Location: Waller Stadium, MCHS
Cost: $25 (includes free t-shirt)

This is an "All Comers"  meet open to one and all!  All you need is a pair of shoes and a desire to compete.  Kids can enter up to 3 events - for one low price.  This is a great way to introduce your child to Track and Field and just have some fun. You can form your own relay teams and compete with your school mates or run on your own.  Show us what you've got!  Last year there were 270 competitors!  Join the fun!

Manhattan Beach seniors teach seniors on technology

Mira Costa students volunteer for an intergenerational tech day giving advice on how to use their devices. The students connect with Older Adults on a personal level, to debase stereotypes and feel more rooted in their community. Costa student, Victoria Nwoke said, “They give awesome advice because they have lived for so long. They’re very approachable, and I just love talking to them.”
