Calling All Parents! Join us in the Pennekamp Cafeteria on May 26th from 8:30am - 9:30am to hear from Macy Grim, LPCC. She will be discussing mental health in kids, behavior, brain development, and effects of technology on kids.
We are pleased to announce Mrs. Dawn Curry has been voted Pennekamp’s 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year! This marks Mrs. Curry’s 23rd year teaching and also the year she is retiring. Mrs. Curry is a passionate teacher who truly brings curriculum to life. She has spent decades impersonating important historical figures to capture students’ attention and sharing her knowledge of U.S. history. Mrs. Curry is a reflective teacher who continually examines and hones her teaching practice. She strives to provide academic challenges while also offering nurture and support so that all students are successful. Mrs. Curry is always willing to devote extra time to help others and encourages students to practice self-advocacy. If ever observing Mrs. Curry in action, one would see an animated, humorous, and knowledgeable instructor who is energized by students making connections and learning. We at Pennekamp are incredibly fortunate to work with such a wonderful human being.
5th Grade teacher, Mrs Gralnik, is graduating this week from the USC Rossier School of Education with her PhD in Educational Leadership.
For the past 3 years, she's juggled teaching and earning her PhD and her class was able to celebrate her with a fun surprise party this past week! We are so proud of her accomplishment!
Congrats Dr Gralnik!
